Our Mission

Caloosa Veterinary Medical Society is a veterinary professional organization focused on continuing education in Lee County and the greater Southwest Florida region. It was established in 1994 to operate as a charitable and educational organization for the advancement of community education and to promote the humane attitude of the general public towards animals. We provide free/low cost required continuing education for veterinary professionals.

Caloosa Veterinary Medical Society has contributed to the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine Dean’s Circle – and is proud to announce that we are now a Lifetime Member. We provide annual scholarships to veterinary technicians. We encourage involvement in the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, who represents the interest of all veterinarians in Florida. The CVMS also offers seminars throughout the year to our members beyond annual conferences.

The CVMS sponsors other educational causes concerning the profession, including donations to related organizations such as the Animal Refuge Center (A.R.C.) in Fort Myers, the Center for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (C.R.O.W.) on Sanibel Island, and Lee County Public Schools. We seek to provide new ways to support the community, and are open to providing counsel on matters related to animal welfare, wildlife and the environment, and educational endeavors. The general purpose for which this corporation was formed is to operate for such charitable organizations and educational purposes to include providing required continuing education for veterinary professionals.
